It’s Mother’s Day, and I’m not trying to write any of that mushy, fabricated, greeting card kind of message.  I’m keeping it real!

There are mother’s, and then there are MOTHER’S!

Giving birth to a child is called childbirth – and yes you become a mother, but that is not all that motherhood is about.

There are countless amounts of mother’s out there who didn’t birth a child. Mother’s whom have adopted, whom are guardians, whom are step-mothers… in some instances, mother’s whom have simply stepped in where a birth mother has stepped out!  These mother’s are sometimes forgotten; they often are not given the recognition they deserve.  Don’t worry ladies, I’ve got your back!!!

To all the Mother’s out there, and yes, I’m talking to each and every one of you.  To the birth mothers, adoptive mothers, step-mothers, Godmothers, aunts, guardians, or otherwise.  The moms that punch in, but never punch out… to all the mother’s who are mothers by choice and not by chance!

These are the mother’s standing by your side from beginning to end.  The ride or die moms who always & forever will have your back.  No deed is too burdensome, no task is too challenging.  They always have the will and strength, therefore they always find the way!

The word “NO” doesn’t exist in their vocabulary…. These are the mother’s who put aside their own needs and wants to satisfy your very own often selfish and demanding requirements.

These are the mother’s who school you.  They keep it real – they are the first to tell you when you’re wrong yet praise is over-flowing; and if it so happens you need to be reprimanded, well this comes in abundance too!

These are the Mother’s I’m referring to.  Mother’s who plant roots and instill values in you.  Mother’s that build a solid foundation for which you can stand on!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there!   Thank you for your unending love and adoration. Thank you for your will and determination. Thank you for always being an inspiration.   Thank you simply for always holding it down and always keeping it real!
