It is in awe and wonderment we find ourselves here today; observing the 1st anniversary of the death of Michael Jackson, The King of Pop.

The past year has gone by like a whirlwind and in the blink of an eye it has come to a sudden end.

This analogy in some ways sums up the life of Michael Jackson.  He was here for only a short time, but managed to accomplish great things, before his life abruptly ended on June 25, 2009.

Do you remember where you were… do you remember what you were doing or whom you were with on that all too unforgettable, heart-wrenching summer afternoon?

The reality of Michael’s death is likened to a bad dream.  A dream you never awaken from.  A dream that transcends upon you day-after-day.

Michael’s music unified the world; he dreamed of a world where the colour of ones skin; race; creed; or religion did not matter.  All that mattered was the love of “music”…. his music.  A world where music was love, and love was music!

We’ve read countless articles; we’ve seen even more news reports; we’ve heard the good, the bad, even the ugly; and in the end; all that matters is that a legend whom changed the face of music; a legend whom so many loved and aspired to be; was taken from us… too suddenly…. too soon.

During Michael’s 2009 Memorial, R&B artist Raymond Usher paid tribute to the King of Pop; his voice a gentle silhouette as he echoed the words “Gone Too Soon”.

Those words continue to be echoed around the world today.

Michael was loved in life.  He continues to be loved today in death; by his countless number of fans, family, and friends.

Gone too soon, but never to be forgotten!
